Why Portland?

We did it!  In a terrible real estate market we took advantage and purchased a major fixer upper for super cheap, moved in and worked on it for two years until it was in decent shape to sell.  Our profits gave us the nice boost we needed to finally get out of Georgia.  We've been wanting to move out of the south for a while now.  Jesse has lived here all his life and I moved here from California around 20yrs ago.  And after 20yrs, I still haven't gotten used to Georgia's hot and humid summers.  Also the traffic here is terrible, schools aren't great and crime is out of control.  Being an avid city-dweller, the crime issue is a biggie for me.  Now that we're parents, we're tired of moving around and want to establish roots somewhere.
